January 2019 News from the Academy:

Academy Foundation 2019 Award Applications
Through the generosity of Academy members and donors, the Foundation is pleased to offer more than 25 awards for nutrition and dietetics practitioners and students. The types of awards vary and include recognition, continuing education, program development, and international awards. Each award has its own unique criteria that recipients must meet to be eligible. This year, the Foundation will be using a new application software to provide applicants with a seamless application experience. Award applications are open. The deadline for all applications is February 10, 2019. Please visit the Foundation’s website for more details: 

Now Accepting Applications for Academy's Spokesperson Program
The Academy is seeking outgoing, knowledgeable registered dietitian nutritionists with experience working with the news media to apply to join the Academy's Spokesperson Program. Members who have been RDNs for more than five years and have at least two years of media experience are encouraged to apply. Numerous topic areas and geographical markets are available. The application deadline is February 8, 2019. Learn more here.

New Diversity Leaders Program
In accordance with the Academy's strategic vision and mission, the Diversity Leaders Program supports Active members from underrepresented groups within the nutrition and dietetics profession. Four leaders are selected to participate in a two-year leadership program and are provided mentorship, leadership training and networking. The Diversity Leaders Program is awarded every two years. Applications will open in the fall of 2018 and will be due on March 1, 2019 for the 2019-2021 cohorts.  Access info here.

Transforming Vision into Action Award
Submissions for the Transforming Vision into Action Award are now being accepted — the deadline to apply is March 1, 2019. The award, which is presented by the Council on Future Practice, is given in recognition of outstanding collaborative contributions of Academy members and their teams. The purpose of this award is to recognize innovative programs or products that transform a vision into nutrition and dietetics practice and/or education with outcomes relevant to the future. This program has been developed by the Academy’s Center for Lifelong Learning and planned with the Weight Management (WM), Nutrition Entrepreneurs (NE), Dietitians in Integrative & Functional Medicine (DIFM), and Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN) dietetic practice groups (DPGs). Announcing the EHR Toolkit 2.0 New Release
This newly revised toolkit is available to all eNCPT subscribers. Health information technology (health IT) and electronic health records (EHR) are a rapidly changing landscape in the U.S. and worldwide. The toolkit is designed to help you in the process of working with or implementing an EHR that includes the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) and electronic Nutrition Care Process Terminology (eNCPT). The EHR Toolkit 2.0 is available with any eNCPT subscription.
